hi everyone, after a few hiccups, here i am.

Eva 14/3
Hej, Im not so used to this wiki thing, but let me just try to add a question of food..
It might be something that is completely solved already, but i just came to think of how much we gonna be able to cook our self, or if we are gonna have everything delievered?..Anyway, im a vegetarian, and also i don't really eat cheese and milk (when not in cooking)
doug 14/3
maybe we should have a Food Curator? or a Chef? or maybe we could have a rotating cooker. of course, i'm a vegetarian too... maybe eva and i are the only ones. does that affect the public meals thing? is there anyone who has to have meat with every meal? pelle, i know you love shark meat, but i don't think you can get that delivered, even in new york.
maybe we could eat flatjacks for breakfast! i'd love a flatjack-stortstack!
ward 15.03.07
here are my thoughts on food. All of this can be challenged by Consensus Method if people see a need.
-I think we will be preparing 90% of our meals in our kitchen. We can send out for delivery on occassion; I imagine once every 3 days, to give ourselves a treat. But mostly, we're cooking. Fits our budget too.
_ I think we will have a small refridgerator, a 2-burner hotplate (cooker top), a toaster oven, and a microwave. Also a sink.
-I don't htink we could or should try to purchase and store all our food from the beginning. We can get a lot, but refrigeration space is limited, so I think we should get fresh deliveries of groceries every 3 days, and the way to do that is an internet service called FreshDirect.com which is used by a lot of people in New york. I haven't yet, But I would be happy to help, as probably all of us would be, to make sure we get cookies.
-From what Eva said earlier in her 1,2,3's, I think she might be a good person to be the food organizer and orderer. We should all take turns cooking and cleaning, maybe in teams. I think we can accommodate the vegetarians most of the time, and perhaps find some inoffensive meat fix for the carnoes among us (I am one) often enough to be satisfying.
-I will write Eva and ask her if she is interested in this job.
Maria 3.17.07
I am more or less a vegetarian myself, but basically the thing I need every day is fresh fruit to keep me happy.
If Eva is o.k. with it I would like to help her with the food organizing. And we all could take turns in cooking lunch and cooking dinner. Is there anybody who doesn't consider himself a cook? No, actually I think we should find that out then. I am already looking forward to a dinner 'a la Kopenhagen...and I can make an Austrian dish some time.
One more question: who is a smoker?
pelle 18.03.07
hello from bethlehem! things are crazy here...BIG stupid wall, and nice people on both side...!!!
ok,,, some thing els, im a smoker, but its not that big a problem,, i hope, maybe hmm ,, i thought there would be no smoking. But if there is the possibilty of a cig once in a while it would be nice? concerning food,, ill eat anything and cook,, very much into humos these days! like meat, but its not a must.
ward 19.03.07
In New York there is no smoking in public buildings, so certainly one can not smoke when the public or staff is in the building. The building is huge and drafty and it seems like an infrequent cigarette smoked at the top of Flatworld would never be noticed if it was done after hours. Seems like this will have to be a Consensus issue, but I think it is too soon to get into it. Personally, I like to make room for smokers.
Eva 20/03/07
well yes why not!..i think it is an issue which is important to help us feeling good
and ok inside there..
- ofcause i can start calculate a bite on what we would need, but i gues
this plan could be made finish when we are all together.
But if you, Maria, wants to help organizing it sounds nice..

i'm getting scared about No Sun + No Exercise --- aerobic, that is ----- what if we put a stationary bicycle in there? something like a unicycle. just to blow off some steam?!
after three weeks, we'll all emerge: buff and pale!
Maria 29.3.07
Yes! I am the first one to vote for a stationary bicycle! I am riding my bike everyday in Brooklyn.... I could imagine if one of us will be feeling annoyed or frustrated or depressed at one point letting in out through exercise will be good (besides maintaining our muscles).
doug 29.3.7
i have a stand for making a bike stationary ... maybe we can get an old bike, and chop it up a bit, to make it smaller....
pelle 30.03.07:
So maybe we need a gym! ---> a stationary bike! heavy metal to lift, madreses for yoga. a big mirror to watch your self exercising!
Is there place for this? Or maybe we could have games/competitions involving the whole structure. Who can collect the 6 "flags" (placed all over) fastest! Then we will need to make some shorts.
pelle 11.04.07:
I've been thinking about our garbage. We will need some system to get nasty garbage out of our way, out of flatland! I would like to make a recycle system, different buckets /holes, ..hopefully if I cleaned (some) of our garbage. We could recycle and use it again.
